Are there three in the Godhead? This is consistently denied by all those who claim to know more intimately about Jehovah than any other religious group. In all their publications and public lectures the Trinity is denounced as “pagan” and “a false un-Biblical doctrine” they taunt those who teach there are THREE beings that possess the nature called GOD!! We will clear the Biblical position and the haze which exists in the minds of some people relative to this important message from Heaven.
Many times in the Old Testament, Genesis 1:26, Genesis 3:22, Genesis 11:7, composite unity is indicated within the members of those who have this nature. While it is quite true that God cannot be conceived in fleshly, physical terms, He has chosen to express Himself. John 4 indicates the true nature of God. Whomever you think John 4 speaks of John 1:1, 8:58, and Hebrews 1:2-3 speak of Christ in the same fashion and that He voluntarily surrendered at His incarnation His all-knowing, all-power nature to become like the sons of men. We ought never to overlook one fact in our study of the Trinity that God is Triune, not triplex. The nature called God is not a mathematical contradiction; it is merely outside the realm of mathematical application. It is not 1+1+1=3 or 1+1+1=1; it is 1x1x1=1. The nature of God is incomprehensible!! The best we have in Scripture is the declaration that God is ONE Nature manifested in THREE Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. In Matthew 3:16-17, we have recorded the baptism of the Lord Jesus. At this time the Father spoke from Heaven, the Son was baptized, and the Holy Spirit descended in the form of a dove-this is strong evidence, indeed, of the threefold existence of three beings that possess the nature called God!! John writes in John 5:23, “All men should honor the Son even as they honor the Father.” The New World Translation renders this verse this way: “in order that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father, He that does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.” Wonder if they read their own translation? None of their professed LOVE for Jehovah amounts to anything in light of John’s words. While they profess to honor the Father, they have indeed dishonored His Son, whom God has commanded that all men should honor even as they honor Him!!
Again, are there THREE? In John 14:16-26 there is a discussion that will remove anyone’s doubt about there being three. In verse Christ said, “And I will pray the Father, and He will send you another Comforter, that He may abide with you for ever.” Can the Russellites count? I mentions one being, the Father is the second being mentioned, and the Comforter is the third being mentioned. It states the Christ will pray, that the prayer will be directed to the Father and that the Father would give the Holy Spirit as Christ is requesting of the Father. Verse 26 of the same chapter states, “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, who the Father will send in My name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” Again, let us look in the New World Translation for a correction of these passages. “And I will request the Father and He will give you another Helper to be with you forever, the Spirit of the truth, which the world cannot receive, because it neither beholds It nor knows It.” Verse 26 of the NWT: “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit (they did not respect the Holy Spirit so they have written of Him in small letters) which the Father (they seem to understand they capitalize the name Father) will send in My Name (Jesus is not capitalize either), that One will teach you all things and bring back to your minds all the things I told you.” Man and wife are ONE, that is 1×1=1, but there are two!!
