What Happened in the Garden of Eden? Part 36

This entry is part [part not set] of 48 in the series What Happened in the Garden of Eden?

What did Adam, do? XXXVII
Did Adam literally, die? Adam was dieing already!! From the moment of conception, man starts the return to his Maker! Not left here on our own, God takes back to Himself what He has created, mankind. Aging is the name of this process of that return.
One of the greatest proofs that original sin is not true and from God is the death of the body!! Not all age, some age but very little, and some to a great extent. Aging can be sped up by intenional disobedience to God’s laws for the body or can be restrained by being obedient to His laws. Ephesians 6:3, but God controls, establishes, sets our time of existence on the Earth!! The very fact that man existed before he sinned in perfect harmony with God (although he was dieing) in the Garden, proves this truth. When sin came into being, God threw him out of the Garden of Eden, not out of physical existence!! If sin determined the time of existence, it wold be out of God’s control. Hebrews 9:27 Some of the longest lived of humanity were they who were the most diabolical yet lived the longest span of time. “The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away, blessed be the name of the Lord.” Job 1:21 “There is a time to reap and a time to sow” Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, and again God does not reap where He has not sowed! Length of time in physical life is not determined by being righteous. Death is not punishment it is the way God determined to end physical life whether we were good or bad. Death being a means of punishment from God is a false concept that most have been taught which came from old wives tales!! God controls ALL things, He knows the numbers of hairs in your head and the day of your death-we have an appointment that we will not miss!!
There is a physical death and there is a physical death. What changed in Eden brought about spiritual death! “The soul that sinneth, it shall die.” Ezekiel 18:5-20 Sin SEPARATES man from God’s fellowship!! Isaiah 59:1-2 Jesus said; “If ye die in your sin, whether I go, ye cannot come.” John 8:21,24 The day that Adam was separated from the fellowship of God, he died-SPIRITUALLY. It would require the blood of God’s Son to repair this!! The day Adam died, spiritually, Eve DID NOT!! She was in the transgression, not the transgressor!! You think that would not be fair of God? Neither does it seem fair that some are raised with the gospel at their side and others are not-this is a curse of parental negligence, not God!!
What law did Eve violate the day Adam ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil? What law does a woman violate in rape, incest, or adultery under the Old Testament Law? There ARE some laws that are not amenable to those to whom there is given NO control!! “Sin IS the transgression of the law of God.” 1 John 3:4 “Where no law is, there is no transgression.” Romans 4:15 What law did Eve violate? She was apart of the transgression, just not as a transgressor. For to her no law had been given !! Some think because Eve could tell of the Law given Adam, she was amenable to that Law. I have been blessed with three children who all knew the plan of salvation years ahead of their obedience, who knew of the Lord’s Supper years ahead of their membership in the Church of Christ, yet NEVER partook. All of us have had children who knew it was wrong to take God’s name in vain years ahead of sinning when they , being responsible to the law, sinned when they profained God’s name!! There are many examples that all of us know that could be shown to support this truth, yet some think Eve sinned before she violated any Law, this cannot be. Could Eve have lived with Adam as a sinner? Many women have. Did she STILL have to bear children by him? Many have. What changed was (because of her part in violating the law of the 1st order), she was placed in subjection to Adam’s wishes and given pain in child birth (which has been passed to all women)! Could Eve have gone to be with God at death in the third heaven and Adam to the paradise in the heart of the earth? If this was the only thing you are considering (and calling it a sin on her part) she would not have been guilty of disobedience and would have gone to the third heaven at death!!
Things changed in the sin of Adam, his fellowship with God!! ON the cross of Calvary, Jesus cried a truth to which many have not listened; “this day, thou shalt be with Me in Paradise.” This is the first invitation offered man to come home!! It had taken God some 5,000 years or better and the death of His Son to make that possible!! COME HOME!! Jesus said; “I am the Way”.
