Then the King will say to them on His left hand, “Depart, ye cursed, into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.” They are the allies of Satan in his rebellion against God, and have spent all their energies and fortunes on his side of the question; and therefore it is reasonable that they should have their ultimate portion with him!! Many times the Lord has warned all who will listen to Him about the foolish pursuit of sin, its consequences, and its reward; of these times the foolish turn a deaf ear—SURE it will not happen to them. As sure as there is a God as sure there will be a judgment of all who have lived before and after us. Of this judgment, Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousand of His saints, to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds, which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”
Before the Christian era—from the foundation of the world, God had appointed a day in which Christ will execute judgment on all the world. This is the day of execution-when eternal judgment will have begun as Jesus changes roles—no longer being Savior—He turns the kingdom back to God the Father. This is not the day of death. This is not the judgment of the entire world. It is a fact that the day of death is a day of judgment, but it is not the day Christ will parade His faithful before all mankind, honoring them for their faithfulness. 2 Thess 1:8-10 This is THE day when Christ will judge the Church of Christ, not reach a verdict, but announce the glorification of His Bride !! This prophecy precluded and announced the coming of the Lord’s Church before man even knew the Church existed!! At this point, the world of mankind has been judged ALREADY, John 3:18, “because it believes (obeys) not the name (authority) of the only begotten Son of God.” These are damned—as our Lord told His disciples when He sent them on the great commission; “he that believes (obeys what Christ commands) and is baptized, will be saved; but he that believes not (obeys not the commands of the only begotten Son), shall be damned.” Mark 16:16 The first Psalm teaches us: “therefore the ungodly (those who refuse to obey the commands of Jesus Christ) shall not stand in the judgment.” Those who have not “obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine delivered them,” who “heard the Word preached and it did not profit them (because their hearts did not receive it-that is obey it),” who “rejected and received not the Words of the Lord Jesus;” will not be judged by THAT Word, having already rejected it, it would be useless and make no sense to judge them by something they had previously rejected!! Only the Church will be judged by the gospel they obeyed!! Paul writes: “Now to Him that is of power to stablish you (Jude said ‘present you faultless) according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began. But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith. To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen.”
“It is appointed unto men once to die, and after this the judgment.” Hebrews 9:27 The judgment, consequently, coming after the separation of the body and spirit from flesh, is not the general judgment but the individual judgment, as spirits, returning to God are judged and instantly rewarded or punished. All will and are waiting for this general judgment. Christ will show it could have been lived—and we are His proof!!
