The Last Week of Jesus Life Part 12

This entry is part 12 of 42 in the series Last Week of Jesus’ Life

The prearranged death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, the Son of God is questioned by those who think Christ got to the Garden of Gethsemane and got a case of doubts! To read the wording of the last message given His disciples before His crucifixion would clear that up in anyone’s mind if the preachers of our day quit telling this lie and teach the truth. The intent of Christ to return to the abode of the Deity is convincingly mentioned in the fourth verse of John 17; “And now, glorify Thou Me with Thine own self with the glory which I had with Thee before the world was.” Doxazo is the Greek word He used and it means to cause the dignity and worth of a person to be known and acknowledged. God, the Father glorified His Son when He raised Him from the dead mocking the Hadean realm and all they who had participated in the cruel death of Christ. “Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against His Anointed, saying “Let us break asunder, and cast away Their cords from us. He that sets in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. They shall He speak unto them in His wrath, and vex them in His sore displeasure. Yet have I set My King upon My holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: the Lord has said unto Me, Thou art My Son; this day have I begotten Thee.” Psalms 2:1-7 If you can’t read, let someone who can read read this to you so you can understand that God, by definition of His power and might declared a decree.
This “decree” was not something that came up all of a sudden, it is not something that had an alternate if the demonstration of Christ power and majesty had not succeeded, this word teaches us it was of divine decree that had thundered from the regal throne of the Ancient of Days before time began!! Christ death, burial, and resurrection had always been the plan of Divinity!! Imagine Christ getting to the time and place when that decree was to be implemented and “want to back out”? You talk about glee in the halls of Hell, IF Satan even in his remotest dreams thought this a possibility why did he try to kill Christ BEFORE He was nailed to the cross?? This covenant or compact between God the Father and God the Son was an ETERNALLY decreed, agreed upon, and mutually acceptable. As Christ would say: “This is the will of Him that sent Me.” John 6:40, “This commandment I have received of the Father.” John 10:18, 14:31. IF, IF Christ had wanted to back out of His covenant with the Father, how could Deity condemn any man for wanting to do the same? “It would have been better not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and turned from it….the latter end of them is worse with them than the beginning.” 2 Peter 20-21 The fountain of all beings from whom all life, energies, and spirits emanated did not come all the way from eternity and get to the hill of Calvary where time would stand still and when He could glorify the beauty and wisdom of His Father’s will and repent of its demand!! Christ is the Son, not by adoption as we, but by inheritance. The Father sent One of His kind and that Kind NEVER shrinks from challenges faced!! Christ was unquestionably qualified and trustworthy who as the Father, of the same Kind as the Father, possessed the fulness, power, might, and holiness which would NEVER allow the Supreme Governor of the Church of Christ who was always with the Father to relinquish His position love demanded!!
When God, the Father declared; “Thou art My Son,” we who love and obey the Father declare, “Thou art the captain of my soul.” It had been pre-determined that “by the resurrection from the dead, that sign of the prophet Jonah, the most convincing proof that Christ is the savior of the Church was slated. Romans 1:4 Immediately after His resurrection, Christ was to take His highest of offices as mediator for the redeemed; “Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, and He shall divide the spoil with the strong; because He has poured out His soul unto death: and He was numbered with the transgressors; and He bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.” Isaiah 53:12 “Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, because He has made intercession for the transgressors. He shall be priest on His throne and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.” Zechariah 6:13 When, on the day of Pentecost, A D 33, the Jew cried out; ‘men and brethren, what shall we do? Acts 2:37, they had just heard the apostle Peter declare Jesus to be BOTH LORD AND CHRIST!! Christ is the only king of Israel that was both King and High Priest!!
