Not everybody sees what glorifies God until they intentionally listen to His Word! “My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:7-8 The glory and grandeur of the triumphal entry into Jerusalem would what the doctor would order IF we were talking about humanity. Kings and High Priests are known for wanting acclaim and attention through out human history, this is not the way of Deity. There is nothing to Them we can add, nothing They need, no encouragement They conjure, and worship to Them is expected and by Deity demanded!! To think that man has satisfied himself with the quaint little notion that Deity would want to come to this realm to be made a King is one ridiculous notion, but to come to Israel of all places to hide Himself away in a little no nothing kingdom when He could have advanced any kingdom or kingdoms of this earth, is another!! Imagine the audacity of the Jewish mind that would THINK that Deity would want to leave the realms above to come to this planet and become a King on such an insignificant throne when it is known that Israel came into being and became a kingdom Christ ALREADY was its King, the King they rejected for a human king!! 1 Samuel 8:6-7
We have bought into their conceit and way of thinking to think the 12th chapter of John had a significant event occur in it and we choose the wrong event!! That His entry into Jerusalem was an acclamation from the people of Israel that Jesus just might get their loyalty if He emulated or matched the glory of a human like king David is at best atheistic if not just a little insensitive to God’s plan from before the beginning!! The glory, the desire, Christ intended determination was “to do the will of His Father.” What would the prophets whose mouths and pens He had filled think if what He gave them to prophesy was not to be because He who inspired them decided to GIVE UP when the going got rough and lay aside the planning of multitudes of generations for mankind’s unlimited forgiveness?? Christ would lay aside God’s plan so humans could glory in Him?? Where did this stupidity come from? You are right, Hell!! and Satan is its author. Christ came to this world to seek the glory of His Father, not the acclaim of His creation. When the Greeks came to Philip and Philip to Andrew wanting to see Jesus, the glory and grandeur of Heaven, Deity, and honor was at stake, not just glory in some little kingdom among other earthly kingdoms attempting to satisfy a people He had fought with for over 1500 years and still could not convince them to love Him!! For those who believe Jesus got the nervous trembles in the Garden of Gethsemane must also believe ALL He had preached for 1500 through ALL the prophets AND John the baptist, the greatest prophet of their kind was not TRUTH!!
They preach, “but, He prayed, Father IF it be possible, let this cup pas from Me.” Are you trying to tell me the God of creation did not know the outcome, end, results of His life here on the earth?? Was Christ ignorant of His outcome?? Would that mean He was fooled when He created? By human standards, did He commit suicide when He made ALL things? If it were suicide, was He guilty of sin? Would the reward of obedience be measured in human standards? If this were true, we could contend that Christ DID get cheated, did die for naught, and was a fool and pawn for WHAT?? Have you not read His address on this subject? “I foresaw the Lord, that He was on My right hand that I should not be moved: therefore did My heart rejoice and My tongue was glad, moreover also My flesh shall rest in hope.” Acts 2:25-26 Does that sound to you like a scared, despondent man in the throes of death? When He told the thief, “Today, thou shalt be with Me in Paradise.” Did that cause you to think He was unsure of the outcome of His sacrifice?? What verse, if you please, can you quote or cite that would cause one to think that Christ was ignorant or unsure of the outcome of His death. Again, had He a short memory and forgotten what He had commissioned the Holy Spirit to inspire the prophets to write? The Prophets knew of the death, the cause of death, the way He would die. They might not have completely understood all of it but they DID write it! The prophets knew He would rise from the dead. Paul wrote; “He died, was buried, and rose again, according to the scriptures.” 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Christ seemed supremely confident when He spoke strongly to Simon Peter about His death just a year before He died. Matthew 16:22 All I can ask is WHAT HAPPENED to change all this??
